This survey states that:
- People consider their data as a core asset and a high priority, many companies
don't have well articulated data strategy.
- Competing corporate priorities are impacting a focused effort on Data Management.
- Even if people have been able to create data sources/repositories (like
Data Warehouse), they feel that they have not been able to convert the data
into useful knowledge in terms of Data Mining.
ExecutionMiH.com comments on these findings.
- The Data Management or a Business Intelligence has to be sponsored by CEO
or a C-Level executive. The executive has to have a significant cross-functional
stake (like CEO, CFO,COO..).
- Many a times the Data Management champions fail to articulate the business
case for Data Management and also fail to provide quick wins.
- Lack of education and training. People are aware of the benefits, but few
of them have a formal training on this subject from business point of view.
Most of the Data Management trainings even today are technical trainings.
