When is Vendor profile Evaluation Matrix used?

Please refer to Vendor Evaluation chapter in BI Tool/Solution Evaluation section for context of the template. This template is used in conjunction with the Commercial & Contractual Evaluation Matrix , Delivery Evaluation Matrix and technical evaluation matrix.

This template is used to create an RFP as well as throughout the evaluation process and is constantly revised till the end-point of the evaluation exercise.

Why is it used?

For decision on significant investment on a tool, one needs to have a systematic basis for taking a decision and also to demonstrate that there is a well-defined diligence process. These decisions include various levels and stakeholders in a company, and using these kind of templates help to separate emotions from facts.

How is it used?

This template is first used to create Vendor related questions in Request for Proposal (RFP). Post this, once you get information from the Vendor as well as the data you have gathered from your own channels and research, lead to the gradual filling-up of the matrix. The rating scale of the matrix is like a business definition piece where the evaluators are defining their range of expectations.
