This is virtually the first template of a Data
Warehouse project. It lists out the business themes (like
Maximizing Sales from Existing customers, Lower the operations cost..)
along with the rating of the business impact and do ability. Refer
to Data
Warehouse Project Scoping & planning.
When is Data Warehouse Business Themes Listing used?
This template is used before, during and after the first Data Warehouse scoping
meeting has happened. The project team does its home work through
the existing material and presents the list of proposed business
themes to the key stakeholders, who prioritize as a group. The project
team tops it up with do ability and then presents the case again
to the stakeholders before coming out with the final output of priority
I and Priority II.
Why is it used?
Data Warehouse can have endless applications across all possible
works of an enterprise. Therefore its needed to put some boundaries
of priority areas, so that project team can realistically work out
the scope of the project.
What it contains?
This output contains- What are the
themes, which can be approached by the project on the basis of importance
and do-ability? |
