Succession planning is an integral part of Talent Management System. Talent Management System provides the pool of candidates out of which the potential successors are identified. TMS adopts Talent Assessment techniques to provide a deeper view of the strengths and development areas of the identified pool. Based on the talent pool and talent assessment generated by TMS, the possible successors are identified for each role in each tier (Talent Positioning). The identification of successors leads to the Talent Development Plan, which is a mix of talent development program and other activities required for readying the candidates for possible avenues of talent positioning. Generally speaking, HR department together with the senior line managers, chooses those employees who have displayed high performance excellence and a high execution quotient for this program which is part of the overall management planning. |
