Some of the statistical quality control techniques which have arisen from the manufacturing world do not apply on Data Quality and this is one of them. Unlike a manufactured product, quality check on every additional record in a Database does not require a significant additional investment. Therefore the suggestion is to do a check on entire Database. You can do the same on offline mode and conduct it in non rush-hour windows. You can go for sampling incase you are not able do the checks by automated queries OR you have data running close to a tera-byte. |
