You can drive your organization, by spending more time watching the road ahead. It is a challenge for organizations to do an honest and stark review of past and current state. This challenge is multiplied, when a business has to project its future performance. Most of the organizations do not have a process of hard-nosed business performance projections. Most of the performance scorecards have the performance, which is limited to current state view (YTD, MTD, QTD). Execution Discipline demands that we should also have a section of FTD (future-to-date) section in the performance scorecard, which should project the business performance in coming months and quarters, not only in terms of final business numbers, but also on the parameters which drive these numbers. This should be supplemented with a comprehensive commentary.
