Business Intelligence Competency Centre- Operate Phase

This page provides details of the management and tasks around keeping BICC running and continuously evolving. The work of the sponsors does not end with the establishment phase. There needs to be a continuous 'feedback and improvement' cycle.

Operate Phase

This phase focuses on execution of the BICC. The BICC needs to prove its usefulness on an ongoing basis. On a regular basis the BICC and the business users should conduct a formal quarterly and/or yearly review and planning process with the business users. At minimum the review should cover the following:

  • Business User Satisfaction
  • Review of BICC Key Performance Indicators
  • Review of Support policies and issues
  • ROI of BI investment
  • Communication policies
  • Repartition of roles
  • Future Business needs
  • Future technical possibilities

In this phase BICC team is also to interact with other project execution teams to coach them on tools usage, project methodologies, project standards, templates, review the progress and timeline with project manager etc.
